There are many different types of BMX bikes available on the market today from full suspension to hardtail models.

What are the benefits of BMX bikes?

The Benefits Of Bmx Bikes: The first thing that comes to mind when you think about a bike is how it will help you get around. But what if I told you there was another way to do this, and one which could be just as fun? Well, in fact there is! And its called BMX biking or bmx for short. This type of cycling has been growing in popularity over recent years due to the many health benefits associated with riding on two wheels.

The difference between regular bikes and BMX bikes

Regular bicycles are the most common type of bicycle. They have a frame made from steel or aluminum tubing, handlebars with grips for your hands, pedals that you step on to go forward, and wheels which roll along the ground. The front wheel is usually larger than the back one so it can steer easier.

BMX bikes have a wider wheel base. This means it can be more stable, but also heavier than a normal bike. The frame is usually made of steel or aluminium with some plastic parts to make it lighter. It's not uncommon for them to have disc brakes as well. They are often used by kids who want something different from their parents' bicycles.

Do BMX bikes have brake systems?

Generally speaking BMX bikes are sold with braking systems. However performance BMX bikes do not have brake systems as they are mainly used for performing tricks in competitions and not for transportation.

If a BMX bike is simply being used for recreational use on public places then brakes are a must. Many BMX bikes will only have a rear brake. Break levers connected to the rear wheels via a rear brake cable. A BMX bike without brakes would not be legally allowed on a public road. Bikes without brakes  aka brakeless bike models are often found on skate park venues.

Why BMX Bike Riders Rarely Have Brakes Installed

The reason why BMX bikes don’t usually have brakes installed is because there is no real need for them. This is because many BMX racers choose to ride without brakes due to the risk involved when braking at speed. If you were riding down an open road, then yes, you would probably want to be using your brakes but if you were doing something like jumping off ramps or rails, then you wouldn’t really care about having brakes.
