As you start to slow down, begin pedaling backwards. It can take some practice to maintain balance while riding backwards, so start by doing it in short bursts.


The 180 is a trick where you spin your bike 180 degrees while in the air. Start by riding at a moderate speed towards an obstacle or a ramp. Just before you reach the obstacle, pull up on the handlebars and turn your body and bike 180 degrees. Land with both wheels at the same time and continue riding.


A grind is a trick where you slide along an obstacle with one or both wheels. Start by approaching the obstacle at a moderate speed. A manual is a trick where you ride on your back wheel without pedaling. Start by riding at a moderate speed. Pull up on the handlebars and shift your weight towards the back of the bike. Keep pedaling until you have enough speed to balance on the back wheel. Try to maintain your balance and ride as far as you can.
